TOLEDO, Ohio, Feb. 28, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Bergquist announces that they will now distribute the complete portfolio of propane equipment from the Cavagna Group, including the new line of Kosan+ residential regulators and internal valves for bulk storage.

Cavagna, based in Italy with manufacturing facilities around the world, has been supplying propane equipment to the U.S. market for over 20 years. Cavagna's Kosan regulator brand has been manufactured for the European market for over 40 years. With the newly developed Kosan+ line, however, Bergquist and Cavagna have worked together to design a regulator specifically to meet the needs of the U.S. propane market.

In making the announcement, Bergquist President Bob Barry said, "Bergquist is dedicated to offering our customers a choice of the most innovative products available. We are constantly reviewing new propane equipment from the U.S. and around the world to find the highest quality and most innovative products to bring to our industry."

Also related, Bergquist will offer newly developed internal valves, relief valves, and commercial/industrial regulators from Marshall Excelsior Company (MEC) of Marshall, Michigan. "MEC continues to design products with features that make them easy to install, easy to use and more service friendly. These products," said Barry, "will save propane marketers both time and money."

By adding these new, competing items Fisher has decided it will no longer allow Bergquist to distribute their products. "Fisher has been the cornerstone of our business since Bergquist was founded in 1963. For many of those years, Bergquist has been the largest Fisher LP equipment distributor in the world," said Barry. "But the propane industry is changing, probably faster than at any time in the last 100 years. To better serve our customers, we need to move ahead as well."
