This year we will be celebrating our 50th year as a distributor of equipment to the propane industry. Our founder, Karl Bergquist, became a propane distributor in 1963 and our first warehouse was a single car garage in Toledo, Ohio. Needless to say, there have been many changes over the years. But our philosophy has stayed the same: we continue to supply both the equipment and technical assistance our customers require.
Today, we have 3 area distribution centers with a combined 60,000 square feet containing more than 12,000 propane, high-pressure gas valve, and anhydrous ammonia related items. From these distribution centers we are able to offer UPS One-Day Ground Service to all or part of 8 states as well as Two-Day service to 33 others. We have customers in all 50 states as well as Canada, Mexico, South America, Europe, and Asia, We’re proud of the fact that we still know most of them by name.
Our large inventories, 3 spacious distribution centers, 5 regional sales centers, and modern ordering options all make our job a little easier, but our staff is truly our greatest asset. Bergquist sales representatives are field trained as well as factory trained and that’s important because they know your side of our industry firsthand. They’ve marketed propane, filled cylinders, installed tanks, performed service work, and worked on bobtail reels in the freezing cold. Our equipment and broad-based product knowledge is key to assisting you with the equipment, training, and trouble-shooting you require.
Yes, our sales staff is exceptional, but there’s much more to the Bergquist team. Our shipping department is the best around! Managing the sheer volume of our inbound and outbound deliveries is no simple task. And regardless of one’s title, all members of the Bergquist team pitches in to ensure that each inventoried order is shipped out the same day.
